Monday, Jan 5, 2009. Let's get it started

Last night armed with our shopping list Steve & I hit Whole Foods, Trader Joes and Whole Foods.  (Yes Whole Foods twice.)

We bought cranberry juice concentrate, Bragg's apple cider vinegar, Perfect Food "Green Drink", Pau D Arco tea,  nutritional yeast and veggies that are acceptable.

Getting Started:
Morning drink ingredients

Upon rising:  2 TBS cranberry juice concentrate, 1 tsp apple cider vinegar, 1 tsp grade B maple syrup in water.  Thank goodness for the maple syrup!
(Don't you love our glasses?  Those were a gift two years ago from a camp mate at Burning Man.  Both Steve & I are selfish with the glasses and don't allow ANYONE else to use them. They have our playa names and a Burning Man logo.)

Breakfast options:  veggie omelette with broccoli, or scrambled eggs with onion, shiitake mushrooms and peppers; or brown rice with onions and carrots; or oatmeal with 1 TBS Bragg's Liquid Aminos; or oatmeal sweetened with stevia and sauteed veggies.

We opted for brown rice with scrambled eggs.

I love love love ketchup on eggs and my first challenge is getting to love eggs without ketchup.

Mid-Morning: have a veggie drink with Chlorella or Super Green; or a cup of miso soup with sea greens; and a cup of echinacea or chamomile tea.

We didn't pick up any miso soup.  Steve can have soy so we'll get it for him.

Deep breath:  Here we go!

What about salsa for the eggs? Are there veggies you can have to make a nice tomatoey salsa? I feel your pain, since I usually have to put Pace on mine :).

We're not sure about having tomatoes. Since we can't have any fruit and tomatoes are berries we're just not sure.

Same as avocados. Those are technically a fruit. They grow on a tree & have a pit.
